About Us

Founded in 2016, the Bartow Literacy Council is a group of individuals and organizations that care about increasing childhood literacy in Bartow County. Our primary goal is to get parents reading to children from birth. We do this primarily by enrolling Bartow County children in the Imagination Library program. Imagination Library mails one book per month directly to a child’s home from the time he is registered until he turns five years old. Members of the Bartow Literacy Council raise funds through grants, individuals donations, and sponsorships to offer this service free of charge to all parents of young children.

The Bartow Literacy Council meets once a month at the Bartow County Health Department. Meetings are open to the public and do not require any type of registration. If you are interested in attending a meeting, please contact us via the contact form and see the event calendar.
